MindLens Psychology Australia accepts referrals from GPs, specialists and therapists as well as self-referrals from clients.
Our vision is to make mental health support easier to access right across Australia. We believe that working closely with GPs and allied health professionals is key to helping more Australians access the professional psychological services they need.
With a focus on clear communication and collaboration, MindLens Psychology Australia is proactive in its dealings with other health professionals. Once we receive a referral, we ensure both the client, and your practice are kept informed of progress and any follow-up action.
GP & Allied Health Referrals
A registered Medicare provider, MindLens Psychology Australia welcomes Mental Health Treatment Plan referrals from general practitioners (GPs). We also accept referrals from allied health professionals, including psychiatrists, physiotherapists, osteopaths, speech pathologists, occupational therapists, and dieticians. If you’re a GP or allied health specialist, make your referral using the form below.

You don’t need a referral from a GP or specialist to make an appointment for our Telehealth psychology services. Simply fill out the contact form below and we’ll be in touch to schedule a time for your first session.

Medicare
Medicate Rebate available with a Mental Health Treatment Plan plus referral
$96.65
Payment
Payment is expected after each session, via credit card or credit debit card. If you have a valid referral from a GP psychiatrist or paediatrician, you can claim a Medicare rebate of $96.65 per session for a maximum of 10 sessions per calendar year.
You are responsible for tracking sessions used under a Mental Health Treatment Plan. Private Health fund rebates may also be available – check with your health fund prior to your first session. An emailed receipt is provided to take to your health insurance provider or EAP provider to claim at work for the full fee payable at the time of your psychological consultation.
A Medicare rebate cannot be claimed at the same time with your private health insurance rebate. Medicare does not cover couples counselling, so it’s best to check with your private health insurer if you have the relevant extras cover.
Fees & Cancellations
The cost of a consultation (usually around 50 minutes) is $220, which is payable at the end of the session debited from your nominated debit/credit . Payments accepted automatic debit via Halaxy using the debit/credit card you provided. When payment is processed you can receive a confirmation email, in addition to the invoice from your practitioner. Your psychologist will discuss with you your eligibility for Medicare or other compensable funding.
Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel or postpone an appointment, I require at least 24hrs notice. Cancellations less than 24 business hrs notice will incur a full fee of $240. This fee is not claimable through Medicare or private health. This amount will be automatically debited from your nominated debit/credit card stored on Halaxy or an invoice will be sent via post/email if this has not been provided. In the unlikely event that this fee is not paid, I reserve the right to utilise a debit collection service to recoup the funds.
